Granny's Birthday
Friday was Granny's (Carla) birthday so we went to Jackie and Geoff's for a great birthday party! We had lots of yummy food, played corn hole (which Granny was an expert at by the end of the night), played with water, played in the swings, went for rides in the wagon, and watched Granny open presents. Ella got Carla some scrapbooking stuff so she could get a head start on her projects. Everyone had a wonderful time! Happy Birthday Carla :)

Watch How I've Grown
I'm a little Ella, Short and Small...
Today was Ella's 9 month checkup with Dr. Q. And, we have reached a consensus that Ella is going to be petite all around. She had gained a little over 2 lbs. and now weighs 17 lbs. 7.2 oz. She had also grown over 2 inches and now measures 27.25 inches. She is 25% for both weight and height. Dr. Q said she is growing terrificly weight wise for her height and her activeness. She also said that having petite build parents contributes to her growth.
Dr. Q also said the feeding routine that she is on is great. We will start her formula in the sippy a little before I go back to school to see how she does with that. And, we will continue introducing table food a little at a time. I brought up the whole milk intolerance issue again and she said to introduce milk ingredients when we feel comfortable to see how she does with it. She said that she can stay on her soy formula until she is 15 months old and then we can switch to Soy milk if that is necessary. She said most babies outgrow the intolerance by two but we will never know if we don't try. If she doesn't out grow it, we'll have to be very cautious about what she eats (not that I am not already a lunatic about it :) ) So, probably one day in the near future I will try a small amount of something with whey or casein way down in the ingredient list.
As far as naps go, she is right on track with those as well. This summer she is on a very predictive schedule. She wakes up around 7 goes back down around 8. Sleeps until 9:45. Dr. Q said this isn't really a nap so not to count it. She goes back down around 11 or 11:30 until 12 or 12:30 and then takes one last nap around 2 or 3. So, basically she is getting 2 naps a day and should stay that way until a year at least. Ella is so flexible though and I am so thankful for that! On days like today where we are gone during nap times she goes down at other times. She took a nap for Carla today later than normal and when we got home around 4:45 she went right to sleep! On the other hand, she will more than likely go to bed later!!
So basically, Ella is growing perfectly and is one of the most flexible babies I have ever seen. I am guessing that since she has been such an easy baby and gave her mommy such a terrific pregnancy, she is going to be one of those terrible twos you hear about! Let's pray otherwise!

Summer Days by the Pool
Ella liked when Bekah pulled her around in the little tube. She likes being close to the water.
Ella really likes Lindsay. Thanks for letting us come swim!
I'm not sure what she is doing here, but she's cute.
Ella and Mommy in the shallow water.
Ella is trying to show Nana the trees and birds.
Ella wants Aunt Bekah to take her back in the pool.
Ella was in mid-splash!
Hunter stopped for a quick pose with the squid eating baby.
She loves her float!
Our pool in Sadieville.
She really enjoys it. And likes to climb in and out.
Being a teacher is a wonderful thing not only because you get to spend your days with kids, but because you get to spend your summers with your own kids! Ella and I have really enjoyed our time together so far. We do whatever we feel like for the day! This past week we took advantage of the beautiful weather and spent our days outside. Kermie and I bought Ella a pool for our yard so we have been spending some time in it. Also, we spent two days out at Jeff and Maureen's pool before they move. Hopefully we can keep going until they do move-how sad:( Ella really loves the water. And, I enjoyed getting a little sun! I am in a wedding next month and will blind people with my white legs :) Ella loved her new float and tried eating the water any time she could. I have posted a few pictures of our past few summer days by the pool. Enjoy.
I am uploading a video so it will be up soon.

Father's Day
Yesterday was Father's Day and a special one because it was Kermie's first! I think he had a really nice day as did his dad and my dad.
We started out the morning by giving Kermie his second present. His first was his Zune that was birthday/father's day and his second were some shirts from Kohl's, a card from mommy and a card from Ella. Ella took back the envelope for herself though!
For lunch, we went to Versailles to celebrate with Kermie's family. We had a yummy lunch and the girls played again after nap time. Happy Father's Day Geoff and Jack!
For dinner, we came back to Sadieville and celebrated with my family. We had a yummy dinner and Kermie and dad shared their best memories as fathers. Happy Father's Day dad!
